Michael Robshaw is an up and coming singer/songwriter based in Cambridge and Leeds. Since the release of his self-produced album 'Straight Eyed Pessimist', Michael has become increasingly popular within local music communities as an established artist and indeed one to look out for.

From a young age Michael has been dedicated and passionate about music, he has worked hard and continues to do so to develop his musically abilities. As well as working on his own music, he has also worked with a plethora of fellow unsigned acts in a number of different ways; including, song writing collaborations, recording and producing songs for other artists and also performing live alongside them.

Michael has been influenced by an extensive and diverse list of artists. A handful of these inspirations include, The ScriptMuseBombay Bicycle ClubBiffy ClyroColdplayGeorge EzraGreen DayEd Sheeran and Noel Gallagher. This broad musical taste ensures that Michael's sound will deliver something for everyone, whether that be poetic lyrics, melodies that etch on your mind or simply the full package. Fashioned over his teenage years of consistent and dedicated composition, the mix of softindie/alternative rock and pop creates a very likeable style.

In addition to his offstage perseverance, he also has a widespread gigging experience spanning across the UK from small pubs to dedicated music rooms with audience capacities of up to 900. This also includes three UK tours. Through this, Michael has acquired profound familiarity with the live music scene.

As a direct result of Michael's broad involvement in the unsigned music scene, his music has had wide recognition over a number of different mediums such as TV: links with a prime time ITV show and Cambridge TV's 'Humble Pie'. He has recieved a broad record of radio plays and live sessions – supported by local and national stations such as, Cambridge 105 and BBC Introducing – and has also appeared in magazines such as NME and Sound on Sound under a different alias.

In the 2015 Cambridge NMG Awards, Michael was shortlisted into the top five for the 'Best Male Solo Artist' award after been nominated up against eighteen others.

His musical creativity is driven by life events he encounters and circumstances he feels strongly about. This allows listeners to form a certain connection with him and his music, making his songs more than 'just another thing to listen to'.
